How Cousin marriage is dangerous? Marriage between first cousins double the risk of children being born with birth defects. Birth defects babies having disorder mainly in their Heart and Nervous system .  Marriage between first cousins having risk of transfer of recessive disease gene in their children. The recessive gene is not dominant in parents but having 50% tendency to cause disease. But in child the tendency of recessive gene becomes 100%,  it becomes dominant and the baby having birth defect.
